YouthLife: Lifecourse perspectives in studying youth transitions

Data sets

The following data sets are available for qualitative secondary analysis via the Timescapes Archive, based at the University of Leeds, UK.

 

Edwards, R. and Weller, S. (2011) Siblings and friends: The changing nature of children’s lateral relationships dataset. University of Leeds, UK: Timescapes Archive.

This data set comprises qualitative material from a UK-based project that documented the lives of fifty children from mid-childhood to young adulthood. It consists of interview transcripts, along with photos, timelines and network maps.

 

Weller, S., Davidson, E., Edwards, R. and Jamieson, L. (2019) Big qual analysis: Teaching dataset. University of Leeds, UK: Timescapes Archive. 

This data set includes pooled material from six qualitative longitudinal studies that formed part of the Timescapes Project. It includes 356 in-depth qualitative interviews with 150 individuals (born between 1908 and 2001). The data set is organised to allow analysis over time and across the life course by gender and age cohort.
